Get your ass off Twitter.

by Phil on November 18, 2009

Stop spending all your time on Twitter talking about how hard you’re crushing it and hustling, and get out there and do it.

I’ve been guilty of this as well, but honestly? The time for talk is over, it’s time to get in the trenches and work.

Shut your mouth and get down to business, or prepare to be left behind.

This is getting rigoddamndiculous.

by Phil October 6, 2009

Okay, lots of news, very little of which I’ll be sharing with you folks. Or folk. I’m pretty sure there’s only one of you. It’s been an unacceptably long time since I’ve posted, I’m aware. I’m finishing up my next TechRepublican post right now. Once that’s posted (today or tomorrow) I’ll be redoing the theme […]

Gary Vaynerchuk’s 80/20 Rule

by Phil September 22, 2009

I’ve published a third article over at Tech Republican.
It references Gary Vaynerchuk’s (@garyvee) 80/20 rule for business relationships and puts a new spin on it for the political realm.
You can read the article in its entirety here.

Twitter is Killing RSS

by Phil September 3, 2009

“Wow, Phil, that’s a pretty bold assumption!” is what you might be saying right now. And if you were, you’d be correct. If you weren’t, well, that’s boring and doesn’t really fit into my narrative.
For those of you who may just be venturing into the tech world or less technically inclined, RSS or Really Simple Syndicationis […]

Social media is not just a fad.

by Phil September 3, 2009

According to these very interesting statistics, it’s more like a revolution.
I’m not so sure on the revolution part, but it’s definitely changed how I do just about everything. Let me know what you think. Also, stay tuned for another theme change, I’m in the process of coding one but it’s my first crack at WordPress […]

Apple fail?

by Phil August 27, 2009

Let me just start off by saying that I love Apple products, and I have yet to find one that has a better PC counterpart (although @kentomlinson may disagree with me when it comes to bank servers); however, Apple’s lost just a little bit of credibility in my eyes with how they’ve handled Snow Leopard. […]

Nine ways to destroy your social network

by Phil August 25, 2009

Social media is more often than not the best way to meaningfully connect to a large number of people. That’s not surprising when you consider that in the US alone there are more than 14 million Twitter users and 75 million Facebook users. If you want to have an active, vibrant social network that listens […]

Check me out on WooCamp

by Phil August 24, 2009

Anyone familiar with Adii’s (@adii) work has probably already read his post, but a few weeks ago he asked several designers and developers active on Twitter what they thought of HTML 5 and CSS 3. There’s a lot of excellent insight in this article, definitely check it out if you’re not familiar with either:

Stepping into the bakery: Installing CakePHP on localhost with MAMP Pro

by Phil August 23, 2009

I think I’ve spent about six hours installing widgets and plugins and themes on this blog, trying to avoid writing about something. The truth is, the few topics I could come up with didn’t seem appropriate for a first post. Most of them were too involved, or something I didn’t want to spend several hours […]
